VANNON B-Pillar Lagun Mount: A Smarter Way to Add Van Life Work Space
Anyone who’s spent a few nights parked at a trailhead or a rest stop knows the value of a good interior work surface. A laptop balanced on your knees gets old fast, and a dinette table you have to climb into isn’t always practical when you just need to answer a few emails before rolling out. That’s the gap that was targeted with the VANNON B-Pillar Lagun Mount — a bolt-in mounting solution that turns your Sprinter’s factory seat base into an anchor point for a swiveling, height-adjustable table.
What It Is
The VANNON B-Pillar Mount is a powder-coated steel bracket engineered to work with the LAGUN table system, the same telescoping arm-and-swivel hardware that’s become a van build staple for everything from dinette tables to mobile desks. VANNON’s mount fits 2007-and-newer Sprinter vans across both high and low factory seat base configurations, and it’s compatible with OEM seats as well as most aftermarket swivel seats — a detail worth calling out, since seat swaps are common enough in this segment that compatibility gaps can quietly rule out an otherwise good product.
Installation uses your van’s existing factory D-ring bolt and seat base hardware, so there’s no drilling into the floor or B-pillar required. That’s a meaningful selling point for anyone who’s already dealt with the headache of adding aftermarket hardware to a Sprinter’s structural mounting points.
One thing to understand up front: this is a mount, not a complete table. VANNON sells it in a few configurations —
- VANNON Mount only ($199) — for owners who already have a LAGUN arm and bracket and just need an additional mounting point.
- VANNON Mount + LAGUN Arm & Bracket Package ($438 in silver, $528 in black) — everything needed except the tabletop itself, available for driver or passenger side.
- Front Seat Suite ($876 in silver, $1,026 in black) — two full mounts, arms, and brackets, one for each front seat, so both sides can run independent table setups.
That price spread matters, because it changes who the product makes sense for. A single mount-only purchase is a modest add for someone already running LAGUN hardware. The full Front Seat Suite is a much bigger investment, and one that only pays off if you actually want two simultaneous stations rather than one that moves.
Why We Added a Second Mount
We’d already had a LAGUN table mounted on one side of our van for a while, and it had become the default spot for meals, laptop work, and general staging. What it hadn’t solved was flexibility — that table lived in exactly one place, whether or not that location was where we actually wanted to work at any given moment.
Adding a second VANNON mount on the passenger side changed that. Instead of buying an entirely separate table setup, we picked up the mount-only option and moved our existing LAGUN arm and tabletop over to it as needed. Parked and wanting a dedicated workspace up front, away from the dinette clutter? The table swings over to the passenger-side mount in a couple of minutes. Back to dinner mode later in the day? It swings right back. That’s effectively what VANNON is describing when they mention adding a second mount and bracket to an existing Mount + Arm package to create one table that moves between driver and passenger positions — and in practice, it works exactly as advertised.
The install itself was straightforward. Because it uses the factory D-ring bolt and existing seat base hardware, there was no fabrication and no modification to the van’s structure — just unbolting the seat base, sandwiching the VANNON mount into place, and reinstalling with the factory hardware. It’s the kind of install a reasonably handy owner can knock out in less that an hour without needing a shop visit, and VANNON backs that up with a full installation tutorial video for anyone who wants to see the process before committing.
The bigger value, though, is what it does to the interior layout. A passenger-seat workspace that appears and disappears on demand is a genuinely different way to use a Sprinter’s front cabin — it doesn’t just add a surface, it adds a second usable “room” without giving up any floor space when you don’t need it.
What are the Trade-Offs?
No product review is complete without the trade-offs, and there are a few worth knowing before you order.
First, the tabletop itself isn’t included in any configuration — you’re buying mounting hardware and, depending on the package, the LAGUN arm, but not the surface that sits on top of it. If this is your first LAGUN setup rather than an addition to an existing one, budget for that separately.
Second, pricing adds up quickly once you move past the base mount. A full black Front Seat Suite runs over a thousand dollars before you’ve added a single tabletop, which puts it well beyond an impulse buy. For most owners, the smarter entry point is the single Mount + Arm package, or — if you’re in our position with an existing LAGUN setup — the mount-only option.
Finally, this is Sprinter-specific hardware, fit to the 2007-and-newer factory seat base. Owners of other van platforms will need to look elsewhere.
The Verdict
The VANNON B-Pillar Mount solves a specific, well-understood problem in van builds: the LAGUN system is excellent, but a single mounting point limits where you can actually use it. Adding a second mount — whether as part of a full Front Seat Suite or, as in our case, a simple addition to an existing setup — turns one good table into a genuinely flexible workspace that follows the way you actually use the van throughout the day.
The made-in-USA build quality and factory-hardware installation make it a low-risk addition for anyone already invested in LAGUN’s ecosystem, even if the modular pricing means it’s worth thinking through exactly which configuration matches your setup before ordering.
Overall, we really like it! It has added additional flexibility to our van set-up, and that is always welcome in such a small space.
