Move over, Smart Fortwo, because now it’s time for its rugged brother to get the spotlight! Smart is destroying its reputation for tiny city cars and stepping into the big leagues with the electric Concept #5 SUV. This off-road beast boasts a massive battery for over 430 miles of range and packs enough punch with dual electric motors to conquer any trail.
The rugged design leaves no doubt about Concept #5’s intentions. Think chunky off-road tires, skid plates for protection, and a built-in winch for those extra sticky situations when you need to get out of a bind. Accessing the roof rack (likely for additional gear) is a breeze thanks to the fold-out rear step.
Technology isn’t forgotten, either. Smart equips Concept #5 with an NVIDIA lidar system for ultimate awareness, Smart Pilot Assist for driver assistance, and even a front-facing projector for movie nights under the stars. An AI in-car assistant is also on board to keep you company and connected on your adventures.
The Smart Concept #5 will debut officially at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition starting today, April 25th. This electric behemoth marks a radical shift for Smart, and we’re excited to see if this bold rig becomes a reality for adventurous drivers.
