The REDARC REDWorks Power Panels Bring Order to Off-Grid Electrical
A recent visit with Michelle from REDARC at their HQ provided the perfect opportunity to take a closer look at the company’s new REDWorks range of pre-wired modular power management systems. From the moment I saw them, it was clear these panels have been engineered with durability and reliability at the forefront. Anyone who has read my previous coverage of REDARC will know the company has built its reputation on rigorous testing, pushing products to failure, redesigning, and testing again until they are confident they can withstand some of the harshest conditions imaginable.
The REDWorks Power Panel range follows the same REDARC philosophy. Each panel is housed within a robust steel enclosure that protects the high-quality components inside, creating a system designed to endure years of touring, overlanding and off-grid travel. Even at first glance, there is little doubt these panels are built to handle life in the outback and will probably outlast me.
The REDARC REDWorks Power Panels are pre-wired 12V power management systems developed to simplify dual-battery installations across 4WDs, touring vehicles, vans, caravans and RVs. Rather than sourcing chargers, fuse blocks, battery monitors and wiring components individually, the REDWorks power panel combines everything into a professionally assembled modular panel that can be installed as a complete system. Michelle explained that while traditional installations can certainly achieve the same result, REDWorks offers a far more streamlined approach. Everything is integrated into a single unit, reducing installation complexity, minimizing wiring clutter and creating a cleaner, more professional end result
Three Solutions for Different Adventures
The REDWorks range consists of three models: Scout, Nomad and Pioneer. Following strong demand in Australia, REDARC’s initial US launch focuses on the most popular variants, the Scout25, Nomad50 and Pioneer50. Each model is designed to suit different styles of travel and power requirements.
Scout25 – Compact and Capable
The Scout is REDARC’s ultra-compact entry-level system, aimed at weekend campers and light touring enthusiasts. It combines a REDARC BCDC charger with battery monitoring functionality, making it ideal for powering essentials such as portable fridges, camp lighting, phones and tablets while keeping the auxiliary battery charged.
Internationally, the Scout is available as a 25A system, while Australian customers can also choose 40A and 50A variants. Despite its capability, the Scout occupies a footprint only slightly larger than an A4 sheet of paper or letter sized, allowing it to be mounted behind drawers, under seats or in other confined spaces.
Battery monitoring is handled through the RedVision app, providing access to battery voltage, temperature and State of Charge (SOC) information. The Scout25 delivers up to 25A of charging from both vehicle and solar inputs, ensuring reliable power whether you’re driving or camped off-grid.
Michelle mentioned a recent Scout installation in a VW T-Roc, highlighting just how versatile the compact design can be in smaller vehicles where installation space is limited.
Nomad50 – Ready for Longer Adventures
Stepping up from the Scout is the Nomad series, designed for travelers spending extended periods off-grid. The Nomad incorporates REDARC’s advanced BCDC Alpha charger and offers greater scalability for additional accessories such as driving lights, air compressors, larger battery banks and other touring equipment.
One of the Nomad’s key strengths is its expandability. It has been designed with future upgrades in mind, making it an excellent choice for travelers who know their setup will expand and evolve over time.
The Nomad50 also features REDARC’s Green Power Priority® technology, which prioritises available solar energy before drawing power from the vehicle’s alternator. This reduces alternator load and can contribute to improved fuel efficiency while maximizing solar harvesting.
An integrated fuse box further simplifies accessory additions, helping maintain a neat and organized installation as equipment is added over time
Pioneer50 – Ultimate Off-Grid Control
At the top of the range sits the Pioneer, REDARC’s flagship power management solution for serious overlanders and remote-area travelers.
The Pioneer combines the BCDC Alpha charger with REDARC’s TVMS Rogue system, delivering advanced control and automation through either a smartphone or the REDVision touchscreen display. Users can monitor and control lighting, fridges, pumps and other accessories directly from the system, creating a highly capable and customizable off-grid power platform.
For those who want complete visibility and control over their electrical system, the Pioneer provides a level of functionality typically associated with far more complex custom installations.
REDVision Monitoring
All REDWorks Power Panels are compatible with REDARC’s REDVision monitoring platform. Through Bluetooth connectivity, users can monitor battery levels, State of Charge and estimated charging times in real time. The standard monitoring package provides all the essential battery information most users require. However, the Advanced Monitoring package takes functionality further by displaying charger performance, charging sources and detailed power flow information.
For those wanting maximum visibility, the REDVision display adds touchscreen control and monitoring capabilities, including water tank levels, temperature monitoring and accessory management. It effectively becomes a central control and command hub for the entire vehicle’s electrical system.
Installation Made Simple
One feature that particularly impressed me was REDARC’s installation planning process. Michelle showed me the physical mounting templates supplied for each power panel, these templates accurately represent the panel’s footprint and required wiring clearances, allowing installers to confirm fitment locations before any drilling or modifications begin.
The installation process has been designed to be relatively straightforward. Although knowing my auto-electrics skill set, I personally wouldn’t attempt it myself, but having said that, I know a few of my friends that wouldn’t think twice. Once a suitable location is selected, the panel is secured using four mounting bolts. Clearly labelled Anderson plug connections simplify wiring, while the pre-configured design significantly reduces installation time compared with traditional custom-built systems.
After connecting power sources and accessories, users simply pair the system with the RedVision app and begin monitoring. While many capable DIY enthusiasts will have no trouble installing the system themselves, REDARC’s network of authorised dealers can also provide professional installation and setup. The authorised dealer link is available further into the article.
Choosing the Right System
To simplify the selection process, REDARC has developed a basic online REDWorks Selector tool. By answering a series of questions about your vehicle, travel style and power requirements, the system recommends the most suitable REDWorks solution for your needs.

New for 2026: REDVision Essentials Display
Michelle gave me an early insight into the all new REDVision Essentials Display, scheduled for release on 1 June 2026. This compact display provides instant battery status information at the touch of a button and can be mounted anywhere within your rig. Designed for users who prefer a dedicated display rather than relying on a smartphone app, it delivers real-time battery information in a simple, easy to read format, much like a fuel gauge for your electrical system. The display can be incorporated into new installations or retrofitted to compatible existing setups.
Final Thoughts
After spending time with Michelle and the REDWorks Power Panel range, it is incredibly easy to see the appeal. By integrating the major components of a dual-battery system into a single, professionally assembled unit, REDARC has dramatically simplified what can often be a complicated and time-consuming installation.
The company’s reputation for quality is well established. For more than 45 years, REDARC products have been developed and tested in some of the harshest conditions on earth, earning a loyal following among touring enthusiasts, tradespeople and remote-area travellers alike. Having used REDARC products in my own vehicles, witnessed the company’s testing processes firsthand and getting hands on with the REDWorks power panels, I have little doubt their new power systems are built for the long haul. The engineering, build quality and attention to detail are evident throughout the REDWorks range.
In my opinion, if you’re contemplating a reliable dual-battery setup and want a solution that combines simplicity and expandability, I would strongly recommend taking a good look at the REDWorks Power Panels, they really deserve serious consideration. As the REDARC saying goes, Australian Made isn’t just a badge, it’s an advantage, and from where I am standing looking at their products range, I would wholeheartedly agree with their statement.
