POLARIS TAKES OFF-ROAD RACING’S MOST DOMINANT UTV TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH GEN 2 RZR PRO R FACTORY

Revving up to defend its reign following the triumphant 2023 SCORE series Championship season, Polaris Off Road, renowned for its cutting-edge off-road vehicle innovation, is set to unveil the second generation of its championship-proven RZR Pro R Factory at the San Felipe 250. This upgraded iteration boasts a newly designed one-piece chassis, featuring a stronger, stiffer frame, alongside a plethora of bodywork enhancements and revamped electronic components. These collective upgrades are the result of extensive testing, development, and fine-tuning conducted by the Polaris team and drivers throughout the duration of the 2023 Championship season.

Built upon the revolutionary RZR Pro R platform, the Gen 2 Pro R Factory effortlessly builds upon the stock vehicle’s optimized fusion of power, strength, and control. Serving as the cornerstone of the entire Polaris Factory Racing operation, it is now primed to uphold its dominance in the fiercely competitive arena of off-road racing in 2024.

Although the RZR Pro R Factory incorporates premium, race-enhanced components, a significant portion of the vehicle’s main hardware remains entirely stock, originating from the groundbreaking RZR Pro R platform. These stock components encompass essentials such as the ProStar Fury 2.0L engine, front and rear drive, transmission, power steering rack, wheel bearings, and all CVT components, including the belt. Additionally, standard elements such as control arms, front and rear knuckles, ball joints, and trailing arms remain unaltered. This underscores the genuine power, strength, and control inherent in the RZR Pro R, available for consumers to acquire directly from the showroom floor.

Harnessing the latest advancements in CAD and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) technology, Polaris Engineering meticulously refined the chassis of the RZR Pro R Factory. These efforts yielded a weight-neutral frame that is not only stronger and stiffer but also offers increased spaciousness. The safety cage, exceeding the stringent FIA requirements, boasts over double the strength, ensuring unparalleled protection. These enhancements collectively enhance ergonomics, comfort, and vehicle stability.

Once the design phase was complete, Polaris Engineering partnered with Technique Inc., the exclusive provider of all NASCAR chassis, to manufacture the one-piece chromoly chassis using state-of-the-art production weld fixtures.

Key enhancements to the Gen 2 RZR Pro R Factory include:

  • Upgraded Front and Rear Bumpers: Crafted by Technique Inc., these new removable bumpers provide enhanced vehicle protection to withstand the rigors of North American desert racing, including the practice of “nerfing.” Additionally, upgraded mounts for spare tire carriers, jack mounts, and tool kits ensure preparedness for any challenging situations on the racecourse.
  • New Factory Muffler: An all-new lightweight Polaris-engineered race muffler optimizes power, controls volume, and refines the tone of the Prostar Fury 4 banger.
  • Improved Cage Design: Based on invaluable driver feedback, an all-new cage design offers added strength and cockpit space while boasting a more aggressive aesthetic.
  • Alcon High-Performance Brake System: Alcon USA delivers its race-proven brake systems, comprising rotors, opposed-piston calipers, and dual master cylinders, ensuring durability and resistance to fade in the most demanding conditions.
  • DYNAMIX Suspension Control Module: The Gen 2 RZR Pro R Factory features FOX® 3.0 Live Valve X2 Internal Bypass shocks paired with a race-tuned DYNAMIX DV Suspension Control Module. This system offers precise control through various terrain, with four suspension modes calibrated for open desert racing. These settings, including Comfort, Baja Soft, Baja Medium, and Baja Firm, were meticulously developed based on invaluable race driver feedback.
