We are returning with a new addition to our “Building an Overlanding Rig” series by Patric Fransko

We attempt to document a fairly easy and clean approach to building a competent overlanding rig. As mentioned in Part 1 & 2, we wanted to create a capable build without wasting a crazy amount on mods we may never fully utilize. We approached it as “everything you need, nothing you don’t.”

Once we installed the ARE CX Classic cap in Part 2, we wanted to make sure we could get access to all the cargo areas. As you can see from the pictures below, we ordered the cap with the side gullwing windows to be able to reach in. That works great on lighter items, but it can be problematic for heavier cargo items. Enter the Decked CargoGlide CG100 Truck Bed Cargo Slide.

As the name indicates, this system has a 1000 lb capacity and extends 70% out of the bed. It also features handy, adjustable tie-down points to keep your cargo in place a snap. It also has a convenient rubber, low slip deck, which helps keep things from sliding easily. The slide has silky smooth roller bearings and multiple locking extension points as it proceeds to 70%. This makes it handy as you can extend it as needed and find a locking spot to keep it in place as you load or unload the slide.
